Proper diet is also a part of the hamster care. You have to ensure that you are giving proper food to your pet. The cage of the hamster should have fresh water all the time. You can fill some water on a bottle especially made for the purpose of use by the hamster. It is advised that you refrain from using a dish to hold the water because the dish will be filled with debris in no time. You will find many packaged foods for the hamster in the market and you can buy any one or more of the foods that are sold. On the other hand, you can also offer other foods to your hamster such as crackers, slices of carrots, small pieces of apples, etc. You can also consider feeding green vegetables to your hamster but make sure that you do not feed a lot of greens to it. If the diet of your pet consists of too many greens then it can lead to a condition called wet tail. This is a disease of hamsters that can be life threatening if you do not treat it properly.
